BCIS has been researching tender costs and construction prices for over 40 years.
The BCIS Online service is used by quantity surveyors, contractors and clients who need to look at elemental construction costs, for example at cost planning stage.
BCIS Housing Online provides the most accurate online resource of cost information and guidance for the housebuilding sector in the UK. Subscribers include housing associations, residential developers, housebuilders and surveyors.
RICS eTendering - a new service managed by BCIS, offering the construction industry a more efficient way to tender. Visit www.ricsetendering.com for further information.
BCIS also publishes information for other subscribers which provides information on the average price of buildings. This is often used by subscribers for an early indication of costs or benchmark figure. It is also used by many subscribers as the basis of reinstatement cost assessments and fire insurance valuations. The Review of Building Prices is available on subscription in printed and online format, and individual quarterly issues can be purchased in printed format.
We also offer a service for architects - the RIBA/BCIS Building Cost Calculator is available from BCIS to all RIBA qualified architects. This gives architects the ability to advise clients on building costs.
BCIS also publishes a number of price books for specific purposes including Daywork Rates; Access Audits and Residential Repairs. The BCIS Wessex Price books are also available to help construction professionals who are compiling or checking estimates.
BCIS research has resulted in reports which include the Guide to Building Construction Duration.
Information for residential surveyors on the cost of rebuilding domestic properties is also available.
