Life Cycle Costing worked examples and case studies
When the Standardized Methodology of Life Cycle Costing for Construction Procurement (SMLCC) was published in 2008 there was much interest and, some debate about the worked examples.
To respond to some of the queries and correct some errors they have now been updated and are available as a download (Annex_D).
The SMLCC also contained a proposed form for presenting life cycle costs (Annex_F) this is now available as a spreadsheet.
A big thank you to Faithful and Gould for their help in preparing the appendices and the Form.
In an entirely separate, but entirely relevant, development the report prepared by Davis Langdon for the European Commission Life cycle costing(LCC) as a contribution to sustainable construction: a common methodology originally published in 2007 is now available on the EC website together with LCC case studies from around Europe which were prepared as a follow up to the report.

Anyone interested in the application of Life Cycle Costing will find the Case Studies fascinating.
The EC website states that 'The results of this work are intended to support contracting authorities, private investors and practitioners in the procurement of large-scale sustainable construction projects. It should be considered as complementary guidance to ISO 15686
