Adjustment
The Adjustment on the rates tab provides a way for you to apply an adjustment to the rates displayed.
If you have determined that the level of pricing relevant to your estimate is say, 10% above the rates shown, you can put in a global adjuster of 1.1 and apply it to increase the rates by that amount. Similarly, applying an adjustment of 0.9 will produce a 10% reduction in the rates.
If you need to make a more complex adjustment you should use the adjustment tools.
Using the adjustment tab, you can build up a an adjustment which takes into account Location (BCIS Location Factors), Inflation (BCIS All In Tender Price Index or Building Cost Index) and your own levels of Preliminaries, Overheads and Profit.
To build up a global adjustment on the tab, select the appropriate values from the dropdowns. Enter values for Preliminaries, Overheads and Profit (OH&P) if required and then click 'Calculate'. This will show you the overall adjustment figure you have calculated.
If this is the figure you wish to use, click 'Apply'. The rates you view will be adjusted by the amount you have calculated.
Appropriate values for the global adjuster calculation will vary with the context of each data set. If you have calculated an adjuster for BCIS Wessex Data (which is free of OH&P) it may not be appropriate for other datasets which include OH&P.
Once applied the Rate Adjuster Icon will appear next to the items on the Rates tab.
