The Site is offered to you by BCIS – Building Cost Information Service, a division of The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. BCIS is based at 12 Great George Street, Parliament Square, London, SW1P 3AD, UK.

Pricing
BCIS aims to provide the most accurate information on prices at all times. These are presented at standard rates except where a specific discount is offered. All prices are displayed in pounds sterling (£) but are subject to change without notice.
Privacy of your data
BCIS take the privacy and the security of the information you provide to us very seriously. All information you give to us is stored securely and is not accessible to other users. BCIS does not sell, trade or rent any of your personal details to any third party. We will only use the information that we collect about you lawfully and strictly in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. BCIS shares a common database with The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) for customers who are RICS members. Payment Methods
Payment must be made in pound sterling. All cheques must be made out to BCIS and drawn on a UK clearing bank and any bank charges incurred must be paid by the customer. If payment is to be made on account, the order must be made in writing and accompanied by a purchase order. If the payment is to be made by credit card, all correct details must be sent to us including the address at which the card is registered. Only Mastercard, Visa and Maestro (Switch) cards are accepted.
VAT
Books are currently zero-rated, but many products and on-line services are subject to VAT at the standard rate. If there is any change in legislation, VAT will be applicable at the standard rate in accordance with such changes. The VAT registration number is GB 584 9400 13.
Despatch
Orders are normally processed within three working days of receipt, but please leave up to 28 days for delivery. Whilst BCIS will endeavour to dispatch orders swiftly, no liability can be accepted for delays, however caused. Pre-paid orders (cheques or credit cards) are given priority over orders where an invoice is required.
Post & Packing
All prices include postage and packing within the UK. Overseas orders are normally despatched by airmail.
Returns
Goods are not normally accepted for return. Claims for non delivery must be made within 30 days from the data of the order. Claims for shortage and damage must be made within 10 working days from the date of receipt and all packaging must be retained for inspection. Claims not received within these periods may not be met. Out of Stock
Customers who have placed orders for items temporarily out of stock will be informed within 14 days. These items will be recorded and supplied when available.
Cancellations
A subscription is for an initial period of one year and can be renewed for a further period of a year. BCIS will send a renewal notice in the form of an invoice to the subscriber before the end of subscription period. By using the LoginID and password issued to them or allowing that LoginID and password to be used or allowing access via a corporate intranet (in the case of corporate package licences) the subscriber accepts the currently published terms and conditions of the service and agrees to pay the subscription fee. No refund of subscription fee paid can be made if the cancellation is made part way through the subscription period.
