A team of BCIS insurance experts are heading to the British Insurance Brokers’ Association (BIBA) Conference 2026 in Manchester next month, as we continue to support the insurance market in addressing inappropriate sums insured, underinsurance and portfolio risk.
The event follows BCIS being shortlisted for a British Insurance Award (BIA), recognising our work in helping insurers and intermediaries improve how reinstatement risk is identified, assessed and managed.
BCIS will be exhibiting at Stand D81 across the two-day conference, where the team will be engaging with insurance professionals on the challenges associated with applying rebuild cost and property intelligence data consistently across the insurance life cycle.
Rising rebuild costs and persistent underinsurance remain key issues across the market. Many sums insured are based on outdated estimates or property values rather than the cost to reinstate, creating risk for both policyholders and insurers. Applying rebuild cost data consistently, from point of quote through to portfolio review, is not always straightforward.
BCIS works with firms to turn our rebuild cost data, relied upon by the insurance sector for five decades, into usable insight, supporting more consistent decision making across underwriting, pricing and portfolio management. BCIS data underpins millions of rebuild cost assessments each year and is widely used across insurers, brokers and MGAs.
Richard MacLean, executive director at BCIS, said: ‘BIBA is an opportunity to have some really informative conversations with the market about how rebuild costs are being approached today, and where the gaps are.
‘It’s not always easy to apply rebuild cost data consistently across the insurance life cycle. Our focus is on working with firms to turn our trusted data into something usable in practice, whether that’s improving visibility of risk, supporting underwriting decisions or strengthening portfolio oversight.’
Visitors to the BCIS stand will have the opportunity to discuss how our trusted rebuild cost data can be applied in a way that aligns with their organisation’s varying priorities and workflows. If you wanted to book a meeting with the team at BIBA, you can do so below.
