Price Adjustment Formulae Indices Online (PAFI) - Professional Practice 10-49

The BCIS Price Adjustment Formulae Indices are monthly indices used in conjunction with the Formula Methods of adjusting building, specialist engineering and civil engineering contracts to allow for changes in the costs of labour, plant and materials.

They are also familiarly known as either the NEDO, Baxter or Osborne Indices and are widely used on Variation of Price Contracts.

These indices more accurately model inflation expenditure than any other formulae method currently available for this work. The series consists of 21 resource indices that can be weighted together to match the mix of work on your individual contract.

As the name suggests, the new Highways Term Maintenance Price Adjustment Formulae Indices are bespoke indices for specialist work and provide a more accurate method of reimbursing contractors' costs on highways term maintenance contracts. They will provide a mechanism for long contracts and extensions which will fairly allocate the inflation risk between the client and contractor by modelling the major inflationary elements on a project.
