1. Who this notice applies to

This notice applies to individuals who apply for a role at BCIS, submit a CV speculatively, are contacted via LinkedIn or other recruitment platforms, or otherwise express an interest in working with BCIS.

2. What personal data we collect

We may collect and process a range of personal information, including your name, contact details, and location. We also collect your CV, employment history, qualifications, and experience, as well as LinkedIn profiles or other professional profiles. Interview notes, assessments, and correspondence are also processed, along with any other information you choose to provide during the recruitment process.

3. How we use your information

Your personal data is used to assess your suitability for the role you have applied for, to communicate with you throughout the recruitment process, to arrange and conduct interviews, and to make recruitment decisions.

4. Legal basis for processing

BCIS processes candidate personal data on the lawful basis of legitimate interest. This is to manage and run recruitment processes for specific roles.

5. Who we share your data with

Your personal data is shared internally only with the recruitment team, relevant hiring managers, and senior leadership where appropriate. We do not share candidate data with third parties unless required by law or as part of pre-employment checks.

6. How long we keep your data

We retain candidate personal data only for as long as necessary. This includes the duration of the recruitment process and, for successful candidates, the probation period, which is six months. Personal data relating to unsuccessful candidates is deleted once it is no longer required.

7. Your rights

You have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to request correction or deletion of your data, and to object to its processing you can request this by emailing recruitment@bcis.co.uk You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) if you have concerns.
