BCIS is entering an exciting phase of growth, powered by innovation, technology, and data. To support this, we’re looking for a Construction Data Analyst to join our team and help shape the data and insights that underpin decision-making across the built environment.
In this role, you’ll work with large, complex datasets covering construction costs, pricing, and market trends. You’ll transform data into meaningful insights that inform how projects are planned, costed, and benchmarked, while collaborating with Data Engineering and Product teams to develop and enhance BCIS data products.
What you’ll do
Validate and analyse construction project cost data from a range of sources using in-house systems
Identify trends, anomalies, and actionable insights within datasets
Support the production of BCIS indices, benchmarking tools, and industry reports
Collaborate with Data Engineering teams to enhance and develop BCIS data products and systems
Contribute to product development by identifying gaps and opportunities in the construction data market
Translate industry expertise into clear requirements for technical teams
Support the development and refinement of data models and methodologies
Work closely with economists, surveyors, and product teams to enhance data-driven outputs
Produce clear visualisations and summaries for both technical and non-technical audiences
Maintain high standards of data quality and documentation

Who we’re looking for
Experience in construction cost benchmarking and data analysis
Strong knowledge of construction costs, quantity surveying, and the built environment
Interest in data analytics, emerging technologies, and AI in construction
High attention to detail and commitment to data quality
Ability to interpret and communicate data clearly to different audiences
Degree (or equivalent experience) in a relevant field (e.g. data science, economics, construction, mathematics, statistics)
Nice to have:
Experience working with large or complex datasets
Understanding of economic indicators or index production
